- Conducting searches of inmates and their living areas for contraband
- Responding to emergency situations, such as fights or medical emergencies
- Providing orientation and training to new correctional officers
- Developing and delivering training programs for current correctional officers
- Maintaining accurate records of inmate behavior and activities
- Conducting regular inspections of the facility to ensure compliance with safety and security regulations
- Collaborating with other correctional officers and staff to maintain order and safety in the facility.
The requirements for this role typically include a high school diploma or GED, as well as completion of a training program for correctional officers.

Jailer/Training Officer Requirements:
Minimum of 60 hours of related training and experience; Law Enforcement; 3 years as a Jails Officer with the following: at least 10 months supervisory/leadership, at least 4 months as correctional officer using handcuffs only. Must be knowledgeable about the Blue Book.
